Dear members, some exciting announcements in relation to the Government’s new stimulus, waiving of road taxes in 2022, V-Labs SW reintegration program and free ongoing assistance from VCCI in getting your Work Health and Safety planning completed – details below:
Governments’ 3rd Stimulus Package is on!
Are you a Business License Holder, Municipality Open Air Vendor Permit Holder, Liquor License Holder or Fishing License Holder?
If yes, then you are eligible to apply for the Small Business Grant (SBG), a payment of 15,000vt per month for 6 months (March – August 2022).
VCCI is opening its application support center from today onwards – 9am – 12pm and 1pm – 4pm – to assist business owners and vendors to fill up and submit their application forms. Come by VCCI today and see one of our capable staff members so that they can help you access the stimulus package.
Applications for Kava bar and Market open air vendor permit holders will be processed on Tuesdays and Thursdays specifically. We look forward to helping you so see you soon!
Please note, if you already applied in 2021 and were successful you not need to re-apply. You will be automatically paid into your account the SBG for 2022.
With regards to the Wage Subsidy Scheme (WSS) if you have already applied and were successful in 2021 you also do not need to re-apply, but you do need to continue to submit your VNPF staff schedule and payment receipts monthly.

Road Tax cancelled for 2022
The Government has decided to cancel all road taxes for this year, 2022, in response to the COVID – 19 pandemic.
If you have already paid your road tax for this year, you can be refunded by visiting the Customs office where you paid your taxes and provide the following documents:
- Receipt of your road tax payment and;
- Confirmation of your bank account from your respective bank to make the payment into
Another option is if you wish to have the tax payment credited against your 2023 road tax costs, or any other future taxes, you can formally send a request via letter addressed to the ‘Taxpayer Services Office’ in Port Vila or Luganville, or send an email with your request to: vatpayments@vanuatu.gov.vu.

VCCI still continues to host Safe Business Operations (SBO) Training for Businesses
VCCI is still running SBO Trainings at its premises, opposite SHEFA Provincial Government, to help businesses not only understand more about Covid – 19 but also help each business develop their own Work Health & Safety (WHS) Plan which is required by all businesses in order to operate in this current pandemic.

V-Lab and Department of Labour’s Yumi Growem Vanuatu program extended to a second year
