Chef, Baristas and Bar Tender Competition on the 17th of September 2019

Culinary Competition 2019

The Vanuatu Chefs and Food Handlers Association is organising a Chef, Baristas and Bar Tender Competition, on the 17th of September 2019 at the Seafront. The competition is open to all Ni Vanuatu citizens working in the food and beverage industry.

There will be seven different competitions on the day, listed below:

9.00am (45-minute class) Live Entrée using Local Teouma Prawns – 2 plates of each Using our local prawns, create a special entrée that will leave the judges wanting more. 

10.00am (1-hour class) Live main course using local fish – 2 plates of each  Using local fresh fish, cook it how you feel is right

11.15am (1-hour class) Live main using Local beef – 2plates of each Using any local beef cut, let us see what Vanuatu Beef taste like, and using different cuts will be very interesting. 1215-1pm Break

1.00pm-2.00pm (1-hour class) Live Island Kai Kai– 2 plates of each Using traditional methods, recipes see if you can make something that is modern without losing its tradition.

2.15pm – 3.45pm (1.5-hour class) Live Dessert class– 2plates of each Ooooolala the best part….. Using our local Gaston Chocolate, see what you come up to finish up the day!

9.00am-12.00 pm Coffee station 2 serve of each Espresso shot, Cappuccino and your own signature coffees. All in 10 Minutes. 

1.00pm-4.00pm Cocktail station 2 serves of each Traditional Pina Colada and your own signature cocktail.

We encourage all Ni Vanuatu chefs, baristas and cocktail makers to enter!
