Celebrating a successful workshop with Provincial Officers and Entrepreneurs

From Tuesday 14 January through to Friday 17 January Provincial Officers from the Departments of Tourism, Cooperatives, and Industry, along with selected business owners from every province attended a four-day ‘Mentoring Micro Small Medium Enterprises’ workshop at the Grand Hotel in Port Vila. Over 30 attendees were present to hear the words of the Director General of the Ministry of Tourism, Trade, Commerce and Ni-Vanuatu Business as he emphasized the need for Provincial Officers from all departments to work together and assist in the development of the country’s Private Sector. VCCI’s first Women in Business event a success!

VCCI has held its first ‘women in business’ lunchtime event in Port Vila at Chantilly’s on the Bay, generously sponsored by BSP Vanuatu. The Wednesday lunchtime event was attended by over 70 local business women, and focused on networking, sharing experiences and for VCCI to learn more about what it can do to better provide business development services, support and advice to its women in business. Calling all businesses in Santo

Come along and learn what VCCI is doing for you VCCI is inviting you, the Santo business community, to a meeting event hosted by the Chamber and BSP Vanuatu on Friday 1 November 2019 at the Chiefs Nakamal in Luganville, Santo, from 10am until 12pm. Lunch will be then provided for participants. VCCI training to Shefa Small Businesses to thinking innovatively!

19 business owners and managers from across Shefa province have completed an intensive 8 day training workshop on Product Innovation, Quality Innovation and Business Planning training, facilitated by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry earlier this month. This training was organized in collaboration with the Department of Cooperatives, the Department of Tourism and the Department of Industry, who assisted in the identification of businesses in attendance. These business men and women are all experienced operators, managing and running farms, guest houses and bungalows, retailing, handicraft, tour guiding, manufacturing and cooperatives in Efate, Epi, Emae, Tongoa and Nguna. Overarching Productive Sector Policy (OPSP) Renewal Briefing for VCCI members and guests

You are invited to VCCI for a morning of consultation on the new Overarching Productive Sector Policy (OPSP) this FRIDAY 6th September 2019 at the Chamber of Commerce. The consultation will begin at 9am and finish by 12. Morning tea and lunch is provided. The Overarching Productive Sector Policy covers primary production and processing from the agriculture, fisheries and forestry sectors.  The original policy was written in 2012 and included emphasis on private sector-led development, and strategies to increase production, increase market access, improve food safety, increase value adding and build skills for the sectors.  The Overarching Productive Sector Policy, along with the Trade Policy Framework, covers the productive sector of Vanuatu and contributes to achieving the National Sustainable Development Plan.
