Improve Your Business Through Better Financial Management

Dear members,

Based on your feedback and requests for support with Business financials, VCCI has prepared an  intensive workstream to support businesses with Financial Management that will be available to business license holders in August.

This is run over a 3-week period. In the first week, clients attend four half day group workshops to learn all the basic skills, in the second week they attempt to implement these in their business, and in the third week, if they wish, they may attend some one-on-one coaching to get support with challenging parts of the implementation.

We encourage business owners, managers and/or supervisors of existing business that are running for more than 3 – 4 years to apply by clicking HERE to download an application form.

All completed application forms are to be sent to esther@vcci.vu but if you have any questions, please call Esther on 27543. Applications close next Wednesday, 27 July 2022.

Please note this program is on offer in Port Vila first, followed by Santo later in August. We will keep you posted on dates and locations in the coming days.

Here’s our workshop schedule. Clients must attend each of these half day workshops.

  1. Improve Service Product & Pricing Workshop – 9th August 8am to 12 noon

Coming up with the right price for your product or service for your business is very important! Not only will this workshop help you do that but you will also learn what is a “Cost Based Pricing Method” and how to apply that method when pricing your product or service. In addition to that you will also learn what is “fixed and variable cost” and how that affects not only pricing but also the profit in your business.

  1. Cash Flow – 10th August 8am to 12 noon

It is important for every business to know where the cash is coming in and what it is being spent on! This workshop will help you properly maintain a record of your cash and also learn how to overcome the issues of managing cash and planning for expenditure in the future.

  1. Recording (Expenditure & Invoicing) Workshop – 11th August 8am to 12 noon

Defining Expense Report, how to prepare it and outlining the key benefits of having an expense Report. How to prepare an invoice, knowing the importance of having one and keeping a record of it.

This half day session will help you define important aspects of invoicing and how to prepare them either manually or on a computer. You will be able to outline key advantages of keeping an invoice record, and not only that you will also learn how invoice reporting can be used to make important financial decisions. Come along and participate, interact, and get motivated!

  1. Profit & Loss Workshop – 12th August 8am to 12 noon

This is where we pull it all together and give you a good report you can use to define the status of the business for the month. This workshop will help you to learn how to calculate Cost of goods sold, gross profits, operating expenses and also prepare a basic Profit & Loss Statement for your business.

We highly recommend businesses investing in this important set of workshops for skills development. We look forward to receiving your applications!
