New Working Visa approved for businesses
After many conversations and meetings with decision makers of the Vanuatu Government VCCI is happy to announce that a new work permit/residency visa has been approved by the Government which is to be processed in 5 working days, to get senior staff and technical roles filled as soon as possible, that cannot/have not been able to be filled by local job seekers.
The cost for the work permit is also reduced and the responsibility for the receiving and checking off all required paperwork to be included in applications will be tasked to VCCI, to make sure timeframes are kept to the promised 5 day turn around.
VCCI is awaiting the forms and step by step process from the Ministry of Internal Affairs so that we can start to offer this service as soon as possible. We will inform you as soon as we are able to start offering this service.
We appreciate everyone who participated in our staff needs survey, which we ran in late February, yielded the results below.
Top line findings include:
- 179 business participated in the survey from across all industry sectors
- 311 supervisor positions were reported as required over the next 12 months
- 266 manager positions were reported as required over the next 12 months
- 584 technical expert positions were reported as required over the next 12 months
VCCI looks forward to more decisions being made by the current Government to support the private sector.
