The Ministry is aware that skills shortages in certain industries and of a certain level or caliber is leading to businesses being unable to find suitably qualified or trained staff locally.

You are requested to provide the Office of Scholarship with specific qualifications/courses/types of training that you have identified which would allow you to address the skills gaps in your business.

Provide this in a formal letter, including your business human resources development plan that outlines the skills gaps, and the qualifications and skills potential workers/employees you are looking for in the national labour market.
To assist you we have created a business human resources development plan template for your use.

Please click here to download it (excel file)

At this stage, the Scholarship Office offers scholarships to Ni Vanuatu candidates that are funded from the Vanuatu Government scholarship program, the VNPF Members Education Support Scheme (MESS), and bilateral cooperation scholarships.

Your contact person at the MoET is John Kaltau, Principal Education Officer, National Scholarship Office, email jkaltau@vanuatu.gov.vu, phone 33495

Submissions are requested to be made to the Office of Scholarship by Friday 28 February, 2020.

Employers and Businesses are also invited to forward to VCCI a summary of their HR Development Plan submitted to the National Scholarship Office for record purposes to assist VCCI in its research and analysis brief position papers on how to address skill gaps and skilled workers shortages in Vanuatu.
