Tax relief measures
The Vanuatu Government has responded to the impacts of Tropical Cyclones (TCs) Judy and Kevin by announcing a series of measures aimed at providing financial relief and support to its citizens.
One of the measures is the waiver of school fees for one term. This will bring welcome relief to families who have been adversely affected by the cyclones.
The government has also introduced tax relief measures designed to assist businesses – this includes the postponement of road tax payments until June 30, 2023, and the cancellation of late fees, fines, and penalties for road taxes.
In addition to these measures, the government has cancelled late fees and penalties related to Value Added Tax (VAT) payments, and normal approved VAT dates will apply in May.
As we receive news of further measures, we will do our best to relay these to you quickly.
