VCCI delivers ‘Business Plan’ training and performs follow up impact study in Santo
14 small businesses in Luganville have completed an intensive 3 day training workshop on Business Planning and participated in a monitoring and evaluation tour to assess the impact to their businesses of previous training facilitated by VCCI in the last quarter of 2018.
VCCI Business Trainer Irene Titek and Yvonne Leo Taiki, Business Link Pacific Program Manager travelled to Luganville in the second week of July to deliver the workshop and undertake the assessment.
‘The purpose of the workshop in Santo was to provide training in an area that had been identified as a need by our participants at our previous trainings in Luganville’ says Irene, VCCI’s Business Training Officer and workshop facilitator.
‘The purpose of the impact study was to check on the progress made by these businesses as a result of the Product Innovation and Product Quality training provided to these same businesses by VCCI in October and November 2018. We learnt so much from our site visits. So see positive results being demonstrated by businesses that have flourished since the training was so thrilling to see. We also learnt from our businesses about what had been the barriers to implementing their ideas and this has informed how we will approach our training in future’.
Participants who attended the workshop and site visits felt a sense of great achievement at the end of the week. ‘I want to congratulate Vanuatu Chamber of Commerce for providing us with this training in Business Planning and allowing us to be inspired by the challenges and successes of our colleagues. After this training, I believe I can improve on my skills and knowledge in order to improve the operation of my business’ shared one participant.
VCCI would like to thank the Trade Development Division and the Enhanced Integrated Framework (EIF) Manager Vanuatu Eliu Luen, and Finance Officer Rose Liu for funding support for the above activities and training workshops. VCCI looks forward to their continued support to provide services to provincially based businesses across Vanuatu.
