VCCI has held its first ‘women in business’ lunchtime event in Port Vila at Chantilly’s on the Bay, generously sponsored by BSP Vanuatu.
The Wednesday lunchtime event was attended by over 70 local business women, and focused on networking, sharing experiences and for VCCI to learn more about what it can do to better provide business development services, support and advice to its women in business.
Our MC and key note speaker Mrs Julia Malas King, Women’s Group representative on VCCI’s council, entertained and inspired the crowd with her stories and lessons she has learnt over the years first as an employee of a large Ni Vanuatu owned business, to moving to being a business owner herself.
Julia is a director and co-owner of Kava House, chair for Women in Sports for Vanuatu, founder and coordinator of H4F football development program for children, a mother of 4 and dedicated member of her Mele community.
The lunchtime program also included an overview of the Business Link Pacific program by Chamber’s BLP Business Services Manager Yvonne Leo Taiki.
VCCI would like to thank everyone who attended the event and looks forward to improving our services for women in business in Vanuatu, based on the great input and ideas provided by participants.
