JOB OPPORTUNITY – VCCI and Quality Solutions is looking for a Certification Officer
Are you a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics degree graduate, looking for an exciting job in a growing field? VCCI is looking for a new Certification Officer to join the team at Quality Solutions, VCCI’s partner in helping businesses to meet industry standards for food handling, manufacturing and becoming export ready. We are looking for the right person to upskill, meaning all training is provided, to get you ready and out into the field.
VCCI works closely with Dion Palu of Quality Solutions via their Export Ready program. Dion also holds contracts with many local businesses, assisting them with creating systems and processes that allow them to become accredited in a range of areas for their business activities. For example, Dion recently assisted El Manaro kava processing facility to meet the requirements for exporting kava to the USA. The business is flourishing due to this type of work, and now Dion is needing a second in charge to learn the ropes and get onboard in a full-time position with Quality Solutions.
Main responsibilities:
The Certification Officer is primarily in charge of conducting inspections and assessments, ensuring operations and procedures comply with certification guidelines and requirements. Although their responsibilities may vary upon their industry or organization of employment, it usually entails reviewing certification applications and system plans, arranging schedules and tests, organizing orientations, providing advice or guidance to new members of the workforce, and implementing strategies. Moreover, they also perform administrative support tasks such as processing the necessary documents, facilitating activities, and coordinating with internal and external parties.
We are looking for someone with a STEM degree (either science, technology, engineering or mathematics) who wants to use their analytical skills and attention to detail in this exciting job.
Location: The position will be based in Port Vila, and includes travel around Vanuatu
Duration: Full-time / permanent
Required Qualifications
- STEM related degree and/or 3 years’ professional experience using analytical skills
Required skills and competencies
- Excellent inter-personal skills, including the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships at all levels;
- Strong analytical abilities;
- Ability to work autonomously;
- Excellent oral and written communications skills in English and Bislama, and French an advantage,
- High ethics and a personal commitment to transparency and accountability;
